Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

SortIn is a Chrome extension built for ghostwriters, content strategists, and agencies. It is operated as an independent product available at sortin.app. For questions, contact support@sortin.app.

2. What data SortIn accesses

When you click Scan on a LinkedIn profile, SortIn reads the following from the current page in your browser tab:

• Engagement counts — reaction count, comment count, repost count per post
• Post text preview — first 200 characters of each post, used only to display a preview inside the extension popup
• Post URL — the LinkedIn link for each post, used so you can click through to the original
• Post type — whether a post is text, image, video, document, or article
• Post date — the relative or absolute date shown on LinkedIn

All of this data is read directly from the LinkedIn page already loaded in your browser. SortIn does not log into LinkedIn, does not use the LinkedIn API, and does not access any LinkedIn data beyond what is already visible on the page you are viewing.

3. What SortIn does NOT access

• Your LinkedIn login credentials or session tokens
• Your LinkedIn messages or private content
• Your LinkedIn connections or network data
• Any LinkedIn profile data beyond the posts visible on the page
• Your browsing history on any other website
• Any data from pages other than linkedin.com

4. How data is stored

Scanned post data is saved locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local — the same isolated storage every Chrome extension uses. This storage is:

• Stored only on your device
• Never transmitted to any server
• Cleared automatically when you scan a new profile
• Limited to a maximum of 200 posts at a time
• Accessible only to the SortIn extension — no other extension or website can read it

Your sort and filter preferences are also saved locally using the same mechanism so they persist between sessions.

5. License key and payment

SortIn Pro is a one-time purchase processed by Gumroad. SortIn does not handle payment information directly. When you activate or periodically verify a license key, SortIn sends your license key directly to the Gumroad API to confirm it is valid. No other data is sent in this request.

SortIn does not store your license key on any server. It is saved only in chrome.storage.local on your device.

6. Data sharing

SortIn does not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties. The only external network request SortIn makes is:

• To api.gumroad.com — to verify your license key when you activate Pro or when the 24-hour validation cache expires

No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising SDKs are included in SortIn.

7. Permissions explained

SortIn requests the following Chrome permissions and uses them only as described:

• activeTab — to read post data from the LinkedIn tab you are currently viewing
• scripting — to inject the post-reading script into the active LinkedIn tab when you click Scan
• storage — to save your scanned posts, preferences, and license status locally on your device
• downloads — to save the CSV export file to your computer (Pro feature)

SortIn only activates on linkedin.com pages. It has no access to any other website.

8. Children's privacy

SortIn is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of SortIn after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
